Gene Estep has served as the athletic trainer for Polk
State’s athletic teams since the 2010-11 season.
Estep is responsible for the injury prevention and management of Polk’s student athletes as well as the operation and management of the department’s training room. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and has participated in multiple athletic training/physician conferences.
A native of Tampa, Estep earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training from the University of South Florida’s College of Sports Medicine in 2009. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in athletic training with a specialty in youth injuries.
Estep and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Winter Haven.
