WINTER HAVEN - Polk State College's Conor Szczerba earned Florida College System Activities Association Baseball Player of the Week accolades Tuesday after leading the Eagles to a 3-1 record last week.
The sophomore, who covers second base for the Eagles, racked up a .389 (7-for-18) batting average in four games.
Szczerba had one home run, five runs and two RBIs during the stretch.
In the series finale against State College of Florida on April 2, he hit 2-for-6 with two runs scored.
The Eagles' leadoff batter, Szczerba posted three hits in each of the final two games of the series against South Florida Community College. He also had a solo home run in game two on April 6.
In the series finale, he was a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen bases, and finished the week 6-for-7.
He finished the three-game series against South Florida Community College hitting 6-for-12.
Szczerba currently leads the state in stolen bases with 33, and runs scored with 54.
Szczerba graduated from Titusville High School and spent one season at Mercer University College before transferring to Polk.
