WINTER HAVEN - Polk State sophomore Reid Noah on Friday signed a National Letter of Intent to attend NCAA Division I University of South Carolina Upstate (USC Upstate) on a baseball scholarship.
Noah will be joining USC Upstate for the 2012-13 season.
Last season while on the mound for the Eagles, Noah had an ERA of 2.98, struck out 42 batters in 39.1 innings and led the state in saves with 11. Noah also was named Suncoast Conference Fireman of the Year.
"Reid has meant a lot to our baseball program," said Head Coach Al Corbeil." He is a true competitor. He has pitched in a lot of big games and has helped us win many of them."
Universities such as Florida Southern and Application State were after his services. "I decided to go to USC Upstate because of the area, coaches and the facilities," said Noah.
Noah, a native of Lakeland, played baseball at George Jenkins High School before coming to Polk.
"I enjoyed coaching Reid, and look forward to following his success at USC Upstate," Corbeil said.
