Gordon and Wong commit to FAMU

Polk State graduates Shane Gordon and Alec Wong have committed to play baseball and continue their studies at Florida A&M University. 


"I'm really happy for Shane and Alec to find a home at a Division I school here in Florida," said Head Coach Al Corbeil. "Both of those guys were a big part of our success here this past season, and I hope they continue that success at FAMU next season"


An outfielder, Gordon hit .294 this past season with a .371 on-base percentage and a .351 slugging percentage. He had 8 doubles and 18 RBI. On defense he had a 1.000 fielding percentage.


Wong, an infielder, made only one error, finishing the season with a .982 fielding percentage. He had 5 doubles, 2 triples, and 12 RBI.


The two were teammates at Rockledge High School in Rockledge, Fla. Gordon attended Georgia State University before transferring to Polk State.

FAMU plays in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
