The first pitch of the game hit Polk State leadoff batter Kaylor Kulina, sending him to first base.

Then things quickly got worse for State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, as the Eagles sent nine hitters to the plate and scored four runs on their way to a 17-3 seven-inning run-rule win today in Winter Haven.

After Kulina took first, Luke Parker walked on four pitches, and Andrew Stroud reached base on an error.

With the bases loaded, JD Osborne's RBI single scored Kulina.

Parker scored on a wild pitch, and then Kyle Jackson drew a walk to reload the bases.

The Manatees made a pitching change, and Matt Piatt greeted the new hurler with a sacrifice fly, scoring Stroud.

Cole Ondrejka then drilled an RBI single that scored Osborne.

Keith Oren followed with a single, and Jackson was thrown out at home trying to score.

Brandon Gali, the ninth man to bat, grounded out to end the inning with the Eagles up 4-0.

The Eagles sent nine men to the plate in each of the next two innings, as they scored five runs in the second and four in the third.

After failing to score in the fourth, they added a run in the fifth and three in the sixth.

Polk State had 16 hits and seven walks off six different Manatee pitchers. Every starter had at least one hit.
