Ninth-inning rally gives Eagles win over South Florida

Polk State scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning today to break a 1-1 tie and beat South Florida State College 5-1 in Avon Park. It was the sixth straight twin for the Eagles.

Maikor Mora got the win to even his record at 3-3. He pitched eight innings, allowing just two hits and an unearned run while walking two and striking out four.

Cody Gamble got three straight outs in the ninth inning.

Luke Parker went two-for-four with a walk, a stolen base, and a run scored.

JD Osborne, also two-for-four, doubled, scored a run, and drove in a run.

Cody Burgess had two hits and two RBI.

Matt Piatt singled and scored a run.

Brandon Gali and Keith Oren each singled, scored a run, and drove in a run.

The Eagles (22-8, 6-1, No. 7 in the FCSAA Coaches' Poll) face South Florida again on Monday in Winter Haven at 6 p.m.
