Former Eagles enjoying postseason success

Several former Polk State baseball players are playing in the postseason with their current teams.

Cody DeNoyelles, Brett Jones, and Chase Sparkman have helped lead the University of Tampa to the NCAA Division II baseball tournament at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, NC. On Saturday, Tampa will play the winner of today's Catawba-Cal Poly Pomona game for the national championship.

Hayden Kelly (Florida State), Casey Schroeder (Coastal Carolina), Daniel Sweet (Dallas Baptist), and Shane Gordon and Alec Wong (FAMU) have all helped their teams advance this week in NCAA Division I regional action.

"It's great to see all of those guys move on from here and have success at the Division I and Division II level," said Polk State Head Coach Al Corbeil.

"We wish them all the best in the post season and in their quests for a National Championship."
