Eagles blank South Florida 13-0

Polk State shut out South Florida State College 13-0 today in a seven-inning run-rule decision at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven. 

Starting pitcher Zak Spivy (3-2) allowed four hits in five innings, walking two and striking out six. 

Jacob Kelley gave up one hit in two innings. 

Yeison Gomez had three RBI, two runs, a single, a walk, and a sacrifice fly. 

Zach Diewert doubled, walked twice, scored twice, and drove in two runs. 

Raudy Martinez went 2-for-2 with an RBI, two walks, and two runs. 

Skylar Frey had a single, a walk, a sacrifice fly, an RBI, and two runs. 

Isaiah Cullum singled, scored once, and drove in a run. 

Brandon Gali went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. 

Cody Burgess singled and walked twice. 

Zach Biermann had a single and a run scored. 

The Eagles (22-11, 7-5, No. 7 FCSAA) play State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Monday at 6 p.m. in Bradenton.
