Polk State baseball player Jacob Kelley has committed to continuing his academic and athletic career this fall at the University of New Orleans (NCAA Division I).

A sophomore from Auburndale, he attended Lake Region High School.

"Kelley was one of the top Polk County arms we recruited out of high school," said Polk State Head Coach Al Corbeil.

"In his two seasons here he's been a major contributor for us on the mound, filling a number of roles for our pitching staff: starting, long relief, and closing games.  We are excited to see him moving on to a quality program like UNO."

Kelley has appeared in 16 games this season. He has a 4.30 ERA and has allowed eight walks while striking out 29.
