Seven Polk State baseball players have earned 2016 Suncoast Conference honors.
In addition, Spivy was named Pitcher of the Year, and Tworek was Fireman of the Year.
"We play in a very tough conference with a lot of really good players," said Head Coach Al Corbeil. "Our guys battled through a lot of injuries and adversity this season as a club. Some of these guys made some really big adjustments, and It's rewarding to see them get recognized with these honors."
Burgess, a sophomore second baseman from Winter Garden, Fla., set a school record with 45 stolen bases, best this season in the FCSAA Region 8 and second in NJCAA D1. He also hit .349 with 35 RBI.
Cullum, a freshman catcher from Bushnell, Fla., had a .289 batting average with seven home runs and 40 RBI.
A sophomore from Naples, Fla., Spivy had a 6-2 record with a .341 ERA. In 68 innings he recorded 53 strikeouts.
Bermudez had a 4-1 record with a 4.00 ERA. In 45 innings, the sophomore from Cosmo, Puerto Rico, allowed only eight walks while striking out 45 batters.
Biermann, a freshman from West Bend, Wis., hit .294. The first baseman led the Eagles in home runs with 10 and had a .523 slugging percentage.
Diewert hit .324 and stole 20 bases. The freshman outfielder from Chamainus, British Columbia, also had seven home runs, 31 RBI, and a .508 slugging percentage.
Tworek, a freshman from Lake Worth, Fla., had a 6-1 record with two saves. In 31 innings, the righthander posted a 1.99 ERA with 29 strikeouts.
