Nine of Polk State's sophomore baseball players took part in the annual FCSAA Sophomore All-Star Weekend on Oct. 29-30 at Henley Field in Lakeland.

They had the chance to show off their skills in front of more than 200 pro scouts and college coaches in various workouts and in an all-star game between the Suncoast Conference and the Mid Florida Conference in Joker Marchant Stadium.

Participating were Zach Biermann, Isaiah Cullum, Zach Diewert, Raudy Martinez, Zach Schneider, Jordan Spicer, Chad Tworek, Justin Tworek, Cole Warken

"The All-Star game continues to be the pinnacle of the fall for our guys," said Head Coach Al Corbeil.

"It's a tremendous event and we are fortunate to have the opportunity to showcase our players in front of so many pro scouts and colleges. It was nice to see our guys and our conference do so well.

"Our pitchers did a great job and all five of our sophomore position players had a hit in the game, including a triple by Isaiah Cullum and a home run by Zach Biermann."
