Eagles blank Manatees for ninth straight win

Polk State extended its winning streak to nine games last night, shutting out State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota 8-0 in Bradenton  

Starting pitcher Justin Gill allowed three hits in five innings, walking two and striking out eight. 

Justin Tworek (4-2) got the win, working two innings and giving up three hits. 

Cole Crowder and Pat Doudican each hurled a shutout inning. 

Isaiah Cullum went 3-for-4 with a double, a run, and two RBI. 

Skylar Frey doubled, singled twice, scored once, and drove in a pair of runs. 

Cole Warken had a single and two runs. 

Zach Diewert doubled, scored a run, and knocked in two runs. 

Raudy Martinez had a walk, a run, and an RBI. 

Jonah Garrison singled and scored. 

The Eagles (39-10, 23-5, No. 2 FCSAA, No. 6 NJCAA) play State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota again at 6 p.m. tomorrow at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.
