Five Polk State sophomore baseball players today signed letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers next year at four-year universities.

Signing were Alec Barger (North Carolina State University), Pat Doudican (University of South Florida), Chavez Fernander (Nova Southeastern University), Cody Oerther (Rollins College), and Zach Scott (Florida Southern College).

"I'm excited to see five of our sophomores sign in the early period," said Head Coach Al Corbeil.

"They've all done a great job on the field and in the classroom and put themselves in a position to be recruited by such prestigious four-year universities.

"All five programs are getting quality players and people who should be a great fit after they leave Polk State."

In his seven years at Polk State, Corbeil has seen more than 70 players move on to four-year schools.
