Eagles beat Florida Southern JV

Polk State defeated the Florida Southern College JV 20-1in seven innings tonight at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven. 

Chase Ashby went 4-for-4 with two doubles, three runs, three RBI, a walk, and a stolen base. 

Danny Berg also collected four hits in four at-bats. He doubled twice, scored four runs, drove in a run, and walked. 

Zach Scott had three hits, three runs, and two RBI. 

Miles Watson singled twice, walked, scored a run, and drove in three runs. 

Trent Sinkfield had a pair of doubles, two runs, a walk, and four RBI. 

Miles Simington doubled, walked, drove in a run, and scored twice. 

Sam Koruschak went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and a walk. 

Rhys Cratty singled, walked, scored a run, and drove in a run. 

Starting pitcher Alec Barger (3-2) picked up the win. In three shutout innings he allowed two hits and had four strikeouts. 

Edgar Rosas, Danny Madden, Bryce Van Horn, and Evan Johnson each pitched an inning in relief. 

The Eagles (19-18, 6-9) resume Suncoast Conference action Saturday against St. Petersburg College at 1 p.m. at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.
