Eagles top Titans 17-5

Polk State had 16 hits last night, defeating the St. Petersburg College Titans 17-5 in seven innings in Clearwater.  

The Eagles put six runs on the board in the first inning and never trailed. Every Polk State batter had at least one hit and scored at least one run. 

Sam Koruschak led the Eagles' offense, going 4-for-4 with a double, a home run, two runs, and five RBI. 

Zach Scott had four hits, two runs, and two RBI. 

Nico Limoncelli went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two stolen bases. He scored four runs and drove in three. 

Miles Watson singled, walked, scored twice, and drove in a run. 

Rhys Cratty contributed a triple, a run, and two RBI. 

Rent Sinkfield doubled, walked, stole a base, scored a run, and drove in a run. 

Chase Ashby finished with a single, a walk, a stolen base, an RBI, and two runs. 

Danny Berg singled, walked, and scored twice.

Starting pitcher Alec Barger earned the win. In five innings he allowed four runs on eight hits. He walked none and struck out six. 

Jared Freilich pitched a shutout inning, and Danny Madden worked the final frame, yielding a run, a hit, and a walk. 

The Eagles (20-19, 7-10) play St. Pete again Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.
