Eagles lose 6-5 at Palm Beach

Polk State lost to Palm Beach State College 6-5tonight in Lake Worth.  

The Eagles had a 5-1 lead after two innings, but the Panthers scored two runs in the fifth, two more in the sixth, and the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.  

Billy McKay (0-1) took the loss, allowing one run on two hits in 2.1 innings. 

Starter Jake Curry gave up a run on no hits in three innings. 

Zavien Lindsey and Timothy Watkins also pitched in relief. 

Sam Koruschak went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run, and two RBI. 

Nico Limoncelli had a single, a run, and an RBI. 

Brady Gulakowski singled and drove in two runs. 

Danny Berg went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run.  

Polk State has lost five in a row after starting the season with a five-game winning streak.  

The Eagles (5-5) return to action Monday against Santa Fe College (12-1, No. 2 FCSAA, No. 12 NJCAA) at 3 p.m. in Gainesville.
