Rally in 9th falls short as Eagles lose 7-6

Trailing 7-4, Polk State rallied to score two runs in the bottom of the night but could get no closer, losing 7-6 to St. Petersburg College last night at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven. 

The Eagles collected 10 hits and four walks.

Tor Sehnert went 3-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, a run, and an RBI.

Nico Limoncelli doubled, walked three times, and scored two runs.

Brady Gulakowski went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. 

Trent Sinkfield had a single, a sacrifice fly, a run, and an RBI. 

Danny Berg added a single, a run, and two RBI.

Lazaro Rodriguez walked and scored a run.

Reese Jackowiak (0-2) took the loss in relief, yielding four runs on two hits in 0.2 innings.

Zavien Lindsey and Berg combined to pitch 5.2 scoreless innings. 

Polk State (11-11, 1-1) plays at State College of Florida (No. 5 FCSAA, 15-10, 0-3) today at 1 p.m. in Bradenton.
