Polk State won its third straight game last night with an 8-4 victory over University of Tampa B in Tampa.
The Eagles collected 11 hits in the nonconference game. With it tied at 3 after six innings, Polk State scored two runs in the seventh and three in the ninth. Tampa put a run on the board in the bottom of the ninth but cut the deficit no further.
Alex Goff (2-3) earned the win in relief. In the final three innings he gave up one run on one hit while walking none and striking out six.
Starter Kyle Gamble had seven strikeouts in four inning, allowing two hits and no walks.
Jaisen Randolph had a big game for the Eagles. He went 3-for-5 with a triple, two runs, two RBI, and three stolen bases.
Nick Wells also swiped three bags, going 3-for-4 with a double.
Dalton Boyd had a triple, a walk, a sacrifice, and an RBI.
Nico Limoncelli hit two sacrifice flies, drove in two runs, stole a base, and scored a run.
Sam Koruschak walked, stole a base, and scored.
Drew Howard had a walk, a stolen base, and an RBI.
Brady Gulakowski singled and scored a run.
The Eagles (18-20, 5-10) return to Suncoast Conference action Saturday at St. Petersburg College (15-18, 8-7) at 1 p.m.
