Limoncelli’s blast sinks Manatees

Nico Limoncelli drilled the first pitch of the 11thinning over the fence for a walkoff home run, giving the Eagles a 9-8 winover the State College of Florida Manatees tonight at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven.

Limoncelli's blast was the fifth homer of the night for the Eagles, and seven of their 11 hits went for extra bases.

The Eagles trailed 8-7 in the bottom of the ninth when, with two out, Brady Gulakowski homered on a 1-2 pitch to tie the game. 

Gulakowski hit two homers, while Sam Koruschak and Tor Sehnert each had one.

Gulakowski also walked twice and scored three runs.

Sehnert had a 3-for-5 game with two runs and three RBI.

James Boldin and Jaisen Randolph each had a double.

Trent Sinkfield singled twice, scored once, and drove in a run. 

Billy McKay (3-5) earned the win. In the final four innings he allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk whiles striking out three.

Jake Curry started and Tate Dearing, Carter Slentz, and Timothy Watkins also worked in relief.

The Eagles (21-21, 8-11) play State College of Florida (28-14, 12-7, No. 5 FCSAA) again tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Bradenton.
