Loss ends three-game winning streak

Polk State lost to State College of Florida 11-2 tonight at Bing Tyus Yard in Winter Haven. 

The defeat snapped a three-game winning streak in which the Eagles totaled 43 hits and 30 runs. 

Their runs tonight came on solo homers by Tor Sehnert and Danny Berg

Sehnert also singled, as did James Boldin and Sam Koruschak

Starting pitcher Kyle Gamble (4-2) took the loss. In 4.1 innings he allowed six runs (two unearned) on six hit and a walk while striking out four. 

The Eagles (22-22, 9-12) begin a three-game series with Hillsborough Community College (23-18, 14-6) on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Tampa.
