Porter to attend Polk State

D.J. Porter, who played basketball at Barack Obama Academy of International Studies in Pittsburgh, has decided to accept a basketball scholarship to attend Polk State College.  

A 6' 5" guard, he averaged 21.9 points a game his senior season and led Obama HS to the Pittsburgh City League Championship Game. 

He was named Player of the Year for the Pittsburgh City League and was one of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette's Fab Five. In addition, he was selected third team all state in Pennsylvania. 

His father, Darelle Porter, starred at Pitt, where he scored 1,007 points and ranks fourth in assists with 617, before becoming head coach at Duquesne University.
