Eagles roll to third straight win

Polk State won its third game in a row tonight, beating Montverde Prep 85-73 in Montverde. 

The Eagles led throughout the game and had a 47-37 advantage at halftime. 

They extended their lead to 14 points in the second half before Montverde pulled to within five points, once with nine minutes left and again with seven minutes remaining. 

Bernard Samuel led the Eagles with 16 points. 

Also scoring in double figures for Polk State were Tohi Smith-Milner (15), Darelle Porter (12), Elijah Cottrill (10), and Nigel Grant (10).

The Eagles (8-5) host Victory Rock Academy on Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. in Winter Haven.
