Eagles return to action with seventh straight win

After going more than three weeks without playing a game, the Polk State Eagles returned to action tonight, beating TAAG Academy 84-68 in Winter Haven.

With the victory, the Eagles extend their winning streak to seven. They are ranked No. 10 in Florida in the FCSAA Coaches' Poll.

Bernard Samuel led Polk State with 20 points.

Nigel Grant scored 18, and Reger Baker added 10.

"It felt good coming back, and it felt even better getting a win," said Head Coach Matt Furjanic.

"There were some rusty spots, and our defense wasn't what it should be. It's good that we have a game tomorrow night too, because that will help us get back in condition."

The Eagles (12-5) face Florida State College at Jacksonville on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Winter Haven.
