The Polk State Eagles basketball team hosted the annual Knights of Columbus free-throw contest for local youth Jan. 25 on the Winter Haven campus.

Nearly 40 kids ages 7 to 14 attended. As part of the event, the Eagles put on a clinic for the young players.

"The Knights of Columbus does a great job of offering the clinic and free throw contest free to the local community," said Head Coach Matt Furjanic.

"This gives our players a chance to interact with local youth and share their talent while teaching skills to kids from the Winter Haven area."

Furjanic says the event benefits both local kids and his players.

"We appreciate the parents and families of the boys and girls who show up for this event. We also enjoy the opportunity to show the community our outstanding student-athletes, who are here not only to play basketball but also to learn life lessons themselves."

No events to show.
