Eagles improve to 2-0

Polk State basketball improved to 2-0 tonight, beating ASA Miami 78-68 in Daytona Beach.

After leading 35-32 at halftime, the Eagles had a 64-43 advantage with 11 minutes left to play. ASA fought back, but could not cut the deficit to fewer than 10 points.

Darelle Porter led the Eagles with 17 points.

Dominique Reid scored 12, while Reger Baker had 11 points, and Elijah Cottrill added 10 points.

The Eagles look to extend their winning streak tomorrow, when they face Clinton at 4 p.m. in Daytona Beach.
