Eagles start conference play with road win

Polk State opened Suncoast Conference play tonight with a 93-81 win over State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota in Bradenton. 

The Eagles had a 43-35 lead at halftime. 

Elijah Cottrill led the Eagles with 19 points. 

Troy Simons had 18, while Reger Baker and Darelle Porter each added 11, and Dayjar Dickson tallied seven.

The Eagles (15-6, No. 7 FCSAA) face Hillsborough Community College (No. 10 FCSAA) on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Winter Haven.
