Three student-athletes from Polk State basketball have earned All-Conference honors for the 2017-18 season.
Bryan Polanco earned Suncoast Conference First Team honors.
A sophomore forward from Miami, Polanco leads the Eagles in points-per-game with 11.3. He made Mullen's List as a NJCAA Standouts.
"It's been and honor," he said, "but we still have a lot of work to do, a lot of games to win, and we're looking for that championship."
Nakic, a sophomore guard from Belgrade, Serbia, has 28 assists and 21 steals and is shooting 73 percent from the free-throw line. He will continue his academic and athletic career at Florida College.
"All-Conference is a great accomplishment for me," he said. "The road's been tough but we've been able to come back and respond every time we had to so I'm just glad that we as a team have stuck together."
Tatum has scored 206 points. The freshman guard from Peachtree City, Ga., averages 9.4 points-per-game.
"Receiving All-Conference recognition is an honor and a blessing but I'm not satisfied," said Tatum. "I want to keep going and do more and accomplish more."
"All three players are well deserving of this award," said Head Coach Brandon Giles.
"They have been consistent with what they bring night in and night out on the floor. I am grateful to have had the honor to coach all three.
"They probably don't know it but each of them has taught me a lot.
"I'm excited to see Stef gain a scholarship to continue his education; he will do well for Florida College next year.
"Polanco will be up next. He will make a coach happy next year once they offer him a scholarship.
"I'm thankful to have a player like Milz Tatum returning next year. He's a great kid who will bring veteran leadership to our roster."
