Three Polk State basketball players have received postseason honors.
Bernat Vanaclocha earned Second Team All Suncoast Conference.
Smith also made the All State and All Region Eight teams.
A freshman guard from Memphis, Tenn., Smith ended the season ranked fourth in NJCAA Region 8 in points-per-game (19.5) and sixth in points (565). He set a Polk State freshman scoring record, breaking the previous mark of 512.
He also tallied 92 rebounds, 54 assists, and 36 steals.
Evans, a sophomore guard from Lakeland, Fla., scored 154 points, averaging 16.9 per game. In addition, he grabbed 100 rebounds and made 28 assists, 18 steals, and 11 blocks.
A freshman from Carlet, Spain, Vanaclocha ranked sixth in field-goal percentage, shooting 58.7 percent. The 6-11 center also scored 222 points, pulled down 148 rebounds, and blocked 27 shots.
All three players played key roles as the Eagles went 12-2 on their home court.
Each of them has a GPA over 3.0, and Evans has committed to continuing his academic and athletic career at University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
