The high-scoring Polk State Eagles hit the century mark again today with a 100-80 win over Indian River State College in Winter Haven.
With the victory the Eagles improve to 5-0.
"We're off to a great start but we aren't satisfied," said Head Coach Brandon Giles."
"We have to continue to play with a high level of defensive intensity because it's really starting to pay off offensively."
Tekorian "TK" Smith led all scorers with 25 points. He shot 5-for-10 on three-pointers and went 6-for-6 at the free throw line. He also had a pair of rebounds and five assists.
"I'm really proud of Tekorian Smith for responding and carrying the team when needed on both ends of the court," said Giles. "He stepped up and made big-time plays when he was supposed to.
Thomas finished with 14 points and two rebounds.
Derrick "DJ" Molden scored 14 points and grabbed three rebounds.
The Eagles (No. 7 FCSAA) return to action Friday at 7 p.m. in Winter Haven against Florida State College at Jacksonville in the Josh Giles Memorial Classic.
