Tekorian "TK" Smith of Polk State basketball has signed a letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic career at Georgia Southern University.
A sophomore guard from Memphis, Tenn., Smith is averaging 15.4 points per game with a 47.2 field-goal percentage and a 93.3 free-throw percentage.
"For a kid to come to us with zero scholarship offers from a four-year university and in one season end up with 21 different offers just tells you not only how talented he is but also how hard he works for what he wants out of this game," said Head Coach Brandon Giles.
"TK will do great at the next level because he won't let anyone defeat him. Georgia Southern's fan base, coaching staff, and faculty will enjoy being around TK as he continues to grow into a great man off the floor."
As a freshman, Smith was named First Team All Suncoast Conference, also making the All State and All NJCAA Region 8 teams.
Smith ended the 2018-19 season ranked fourth in NJCAA Region 8 in points-per-game (19.5) and sixth in points (565). He set a Polk State freshman scoring record of 574 points, breaking the previous mark of 512.
