Eagles knock off No. 1 Gulf Coast

Polk State soared past Gulf Coast State (No. 1 FCSAA, No. 6 NJCAA) 73-67 tonight on the first day of the Chipola College Classic in Marianna, Fla. 

The Eagles have now defeated two NJCAA top-25 teams this week.  

Clarence Jackson posted a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, nine of which came on the defensive end. 

Malcolm Stevenson also tallied 14 points, and Tekorian "TK" Smith netted 11. 

Tommie Lewis finished with 10 rebounds and nine points, while Kerry Richardson had seven points and seven rebounds.   

The Eagles (9-2, No. 7 FCSAA) play Chipola College (No. 4 FCSAA, No. 15 NJCAA) tomorrow at 6 p.m.  The two teams met November 23 in Winter Haven, with Chipola winning 77-71.
