Getting to Know: Brooke Threlkeld
WINTER HAVEN — This edition of "Getting to Know" features freshman infielder Brooke Threlkeld of the softball program. The Auburndale native had a solid first season for the Eagles and is looking to continue her dominance on the field again next season.
Threlkeld sat down with Sports Information Coordinator Terrell Elliston to share what keeps her busy off the field.
TE: Why did you decide to come to Polk?
BT: I decided to attend Polk because I wanted to play softball and stay close to home.
TE: What are your post-graduation plans?
BT: I plan on going to med school.
TE: Who is your funniest teammate?
BT: Val Proulx.
TE: If you could travel to any place in the world, where would you go and why?
BT: I would like to travel to Hawaii because it looks pretty.
TE: What/who inspired you to get involved with softball?
BT: My dad inspired me to play.
TE: What do you like best about team road trips?
BT: Money.
TE: What is your best non-athletic skill?
BT: I am smart in school!
TE: What is your biggest pet peeve and why?
BT: People spitting because it's so gross.
TE: What is an obstacle in life you had to overcome?
BT: My hitting slump.
TE: What is one thing that most people don't know about you?
BT: I played volleyball.
TE: Favorite place to play in the Suncoast Conference besides Polk?
BT: State College of Florida.
