Eagles split doubleheader with Hillsborough

Polk State won the opener but lost the nightcap against Hillsborough Community College tonight in Winter Haven.  

In game one, the Eagles won 10-0 in five innings. Haleigh Corbally improved her record to 10-3 with a complete-game three-hit outing. 

At the plate, Kayla Montgomery (2-for-2) hit her eighth home run and had 4 RBI, Kaitlyn Warren (2-for-4) tripled and had an RBI, and Rose Stevens went 2-for-3 with a triple.

The Eagles came up short in game two, losing 5-3. Starting pitcher Kayla Montgomery (12-4) took the loss. 

On offense, Erica Morrisey went 2-for-3, Maggie Roberts (1-for-3) doubled and drove in a run, and Deanna Littles (1-for-3) had a double and 2 RBI. 

The Eagles (30-9, 3-1 in the Suncoast Conference) host St. Pete Thursday at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the DiamondPlex in Winter Haven.
