Pitcher Kayla Montgomery got the win in both games tonight as Polk State took a doubleheader from South Florida State College in Avon Park.

In the first game, Montgomery pitched two-and-one-thirds of an inning in relief as the Eagles won 14-6 in six innings. At the plate, Montgomery went 2-for-4, hit her ninth home run of the season, and drove in two runs. 

Kaitlyn Warren (3-for-4) doubled and had two RBI, and Erica Morrisey went 2-for-4 with three RBI. 

In game two, Montgomery tossed a complete-game one-hitter with six strikeouts, improving her record to 15-4. On offense she went 3-for-4 with two RBI. 

Maggie Roberts (2-for-4) had an RBI, Kaitlyn Warren (2-for-4) tripled, and Erica Morrissey went 2-for-3. 

The Eagles improved to 34-9 (7-1 and first place in the Suncoast Conference). They face State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota on the road Wednesday at 5 p.m.
