Eagles split pair with SCF Manatee-Sarasota

Polk State split a doubleheader on the road tonight against State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. 

The Eagles won the opener 7-1, with Haleigh Corbally tossing a complete game to improve her record to 12-3. 

She got run support from Kaitlyn Warren (2-for-4, home run, three RBI), Stephanie Koutsoumbaris (3-for-4, double), Kara Seymour (3-for-3 with a run scored), and Rose Stevens (2-for-4, two RBI). 

Polk State dropped the second game 5-1. Losing pitcher Kayla Montgomery (15-5) struck out six and yielded two earned runs in a complete-game effort. 

At the plate, Stephanie Koutsoumbaris (2-for-3) doubled and drove in a run, and Rose Stevens went 1-for-3 and swiped two bases. 

The Eagles (35-10, 8-2 in the Suncoast Conference) host Hillsborough Community College April 10 in Winter Haven.
