Four Polk State softball players sign with four-year schools

Four Polk State sophomores have signed to play softball and continue their studies at four-year universities.

Kayla Montgomery (Lakeland/George Jenkins HS) and Kara Seymour (Boynton Beach/Park Vista HS) will attend Webber International University.

Rose Stevens (Bartow/Mulberry HS) has signed with Rollins College.

Kaitlyn Warren (Mulberry/Mulberry HS) has committed to Palm Beach Atlantic University.

"Kayla, Kara, Rose and Kaitlyn were integral parts of the most successful class in program history," said head coach Jeff Ellis. "In two years they won 86 games, two Suncoast Conference Championships, and reached the championship game in two straight Gulf District Tournaments.

"I believe all four will be impact players at the next level, as they will only continue to improve. We will miss each one of them a great deal, but we wish them nothing but success in their futures. I am certain they will continue to make us all proud."

Montgomery, Seymour, Stevens, and Warren received 2014 First Team All-Conference awards. Montgomery received Suncoast Conference Pitcher of the Year. Montgomery and Stevens were named First Team FCSAA All State.
