Eagles win one of two at Dodgertown

Polk State softball won one of two games today at the Dodgertown Invitational in Vero Beach. 

In the first game the Eagles shut out the College of Central Florida 2-0. 

Lauren West (4-3) pitched a complete game, allowing four hits while striking out three. 

Kacie Booth had a double and an RBI. Amber Butler (one-for-three) drove in Polk State's other run. Taylor Fike had a double. 

In game two lost 5-0 to Indian River State College. 

Danielle Gizoski (2-4) took the loss. She gave up four runs (one earned) in three and a third of an inning. 

Riley Caylor finished the game in relief. Allowing three hits and one earned run. 

Taylor Baker, Booth, Butler, and Shelisa Oliver each had a single as they accounted for the only hits the Eagles had in the game. 

The Eagles (10-8) play next on the road at Miami Dade College on Feb. 27 at 2 p.m.
