West pitches Eagles to sweep of Hillsborough

Lauren West pitched back-to-back complete games tonight as Polk State ended Suncoast Conference play by sweeping Hillsborough Community College in Plant City by scores of 4-2 and 7-0. 

In the first game, West allowed two runs (one unearned) while striking out five. 

Shelisa Oliver went three-for-three with a run scored. 

Kassidy Kennard singled, scored a run, and drove in a run. 

Amber Butler had a single and a run scored. 

Taylor Baker collected a single and an RBI. 

West pitched even better in the second game. She shut out the Hawks on three hits while striking out five. 

With the two wins, her record improves to 15-9. 

Oliver continued her hot hitting, going two-for-four with a run scored. 

Kacie Booth singled, tripled, scored a run, and drove in a run.

Megan Lindell singled and blasted a solo home run. 

Erica Morrissey had two singles, two runs scored, and an RBI. 

The Eagles (27-17, 11-5) play at Lake-Sumter State College on April 21 at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
