Eagles welcome new softball players

Polk State softball has 10 incoming freshmen committed to the team for the 2015-16 season. 

The new student-athletes are:

  • Kelsey Armstrong, infielder, Lake Region High School, Winter Haven
  • Ally Baert, infielder, Auburndale High School
  • Mikayla Barwig, infielder, McKeel Academy of Technology, Lakeland.
  • Dakoda Bozeman, outfielder, Auburndale High School
  • Ashlyn Curtis, outfielder, Eastside High School, Gainesville
  • Riley Dunn, infielder, Lake Howell High School, Winter Park
  • Shailyn Morales, first base, Wiregrass Ranch High School, Zephyrhills
  • Heather Novis, outfielder, McKeel Academy of Technology, Lakeland
  • Maddie Scott, pitcher, Tahoma High School, Maple Valley, Wa. 
  • Sariah Shirah, catcher, McKeel Academy of Technology, Lakeland
 

"We are really excited about the incoming class," said Head Coach Jeff Ellis.

"It might be the most athletic class we have ever brought in. It's filled with speed, hitting, and defense. I can't wait to see this class develop over the next two years."

The Eagles start the fall exhibition season Sept. 12.
