Eagles split with Palm Beach

Polk State split a doubleheader with Palm Beach State College today in Winter Haven.

In the first game, the Eagles shut out the Panthers 3-0. 

Danielle Gizoski (3-4) pitched a complete game, allowing no walks while striking out four.

Meghan Lindell had a home run and two RBI.

Amber Butler singled and drove in a run.

In game two, Polk State lost 4-0.

The Eagles had base runners in every inning but left 13 on base.

Kelsey Armstrong went 2-for-4 with a stolen base.

Kacie Booth collected three hits and stole a base.

Heather Novis doubled in three at-bats.

Taylor Baker (3-2) pitched a complete game. She struck out six and allowed four runs (three unearned).

The Eagles (8-8) travel to Indian River State College on Tuesday for games at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
