Eagles drop DH to Lake-Sumter

Polk State lost twice to Lake-Sumter State College today in Winter Haven by scores of 10-2 (six innings) and 13-1 (five innings). 

In game one, the Eagles scored a run in the third inning when Victoria Perry led off with a single, moved to second on Destiny Breeden's sacrifice bunt, took third on Abigail Thompson's single, and scored on Caitlyn Whitehead's sacrifice fly. 

Polk State scored another run the following inning. Breanna Snell hit a leadoff double, moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored on Savannah Southerland's single. 

In the second game, trailing 2-0, the Eagle scored a run on a two-out triple by Perry and a single by Breeden. 

The Eagles begin Suncoast Conference play Tuesday against South Florida State College at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Avon Park.
