Eagles drop DH to St. Pete

Playing its final home games of the season on Sophomore Night, Polk State lost to St. Petersburg College 4-1 and 10-2 (five innings) tonight in Winter Haven. 

In game one, Abigail Thompson went 3-for-3 with two stolen bases. 

Caitlyn Whitehead had a single and an RBI. 

Destiny Breeden tripled and scored a run. 

Lauren Estrada had a double. 

Alyssa Manley allowed six hits, walking three and striking out three. 

Between games, Breanna Snell, a sophomore from Lakeland, was honored for her leadership this season and for her contributions to Polk State softball. 

In the second game, Victoria Perry had Polk State's only hit. She also stole a base and drove in a run. 

Thompson walked and scored a run. 

Breanna Snell scored a run, and Reese Nibert had an RBI. 

Snell allowed 11 hits and four walks. 

The Eagles hit the road Thursday for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. games at Florida Southwestern.
