Eagles go 1-1 on the road

Polk State went 1-1 today at the Seminole State Tournament in Sanford. 

In the first game, the Eagles lost 4-0 to Tallahassee Community College.  

Krista Hoyt singled, and Destinee Jackson and Anizya Vargas each doubled as the Eagles were held to three hits. 

In game two, the Eagles trailed 5-3 going into the top of the seventh inning but rallied for three runs and a 6-5 win over Florida State College at Jacksonville. 

Victoria Perry went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs, and an RBI. 

Vargas singled, tripled, scored a run, and drove in a run.  

Lauren Estrada had a single, a run, and an RBI. 

Victoria Gonzalez went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run. 

Starting pitcher Megan Wilder singled and scored a run. In three innings she allowed six hits and five runs (three unearned). 

Sarah Grindrod pitched the final four innings, giving up two hits and no runs. 

The Eagles (8-9) hit the road Tuesday to play St. Johns River State College (6-8) at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. in Palatka.
