Eagles drop 5-2 decision to Bucs

Polk State lost to Florida Southwestern 5-2 last night in Fort Myers. 

The second game of the doubleheader was postponed. 

The Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Bucs answered with a run in the bottom of the inning. 

After Polk State took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third, Florida Southwestern responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame, taking a 3-2 lead. 

The Bucs added two runs in the fourth. 

Anizya Vargas went 2-for-4 with a run and two stolen bases. 

Destinee Jackson singled, walked, stole a base, and drove in a run. 

Destiny Breeden had a walk, a run, and a stolen base. 

Victoria Perry also drew a walk and stole a base.  

Alayna Carranco pitched a complete game, allowing five runs (one unearned) on eight hits and two walks.  

The Eagles (15-19 1-4) play Hillsborough Community College (13-14, 3-3) today at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Diamondplex in Winter Haven.
