Eagles shut out Illinois Central

The Polk State Eagles returned to their winning ways tonight, blanking Illinois Central College 3-0 in Melbourne. 

Elyse Fontecchio scored twice for the Eagles, at the 13th minute and the 31st minute of the first half. 

In the second half, Hannah Davis scored at the 17-minute mark. 

Goalkeeper Sarah McKinney made five saves to earn the shutout. 

Polk State took 10 shots on goal, while Illinois Central took four shots and had eight saves. 

The Eagles (4-3-2) play Broward College Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale.
