Soccer sophomores commit to four-year programs

Four Polk State soccer players will continue their academic and athletic careers at four-year schools.

Kelsey Lewis, a midfielder from Merritt Island, Fla., will attend Northwestern State University (NCAA DI) in Natchitoches, La.

Midfielder/forward Shinell McCalla, from Basseterre, St. Kitts, has committed to Waldorf University (NAIA), Forest City, Iowa.

Sarah McKinney, a goalkeeper from Fruitland Park, Fla., plans to move on to Webber International University (NAIA), Babson Park, Fla., where she will play soccer and softball.

Midfielder Kara Quintanilla, from Auburndale, Fla., will also attend Webber International University.

"I'm excited to see each of these athletes move on and continue their collegiate careers," said head Coach Steve Linamen. 

"I hope Polk State was a special place for them as I know they each have left their mark on our program."
