Eagles go 2-0 on road trip

Polk State won its second straight game today, defeating Motlow State Community College 2-1 in Cuthbert, Ga. 

The Eagles went 2-0 on their trip to Georgia. 

Kaitlyn Dickie got the Eagles on the board first with a goal in the eighth minute, with an assist from Laura Knott

Motlow State evened the score in the 48th minute on a free kick. 

In the 78th minute, Knott scored the winning goal on a penalty kick. 

"The team did a great job winning both games on the road, and we are starting to create more scoring opportunities," said Head Coach Steve Linamen. 

"Today, however, we needed to do better than 58 percent shots on goal." 

The Eagles took 15 shots on goal. 

Polk State returns to action Wednesday against Broward College at 4 p.m. on the Lakeland campus.
