Hawks Too Hot to Handle for Polk

TAMPA - The Polk State College volleyball team dropped a match 3-1 (25-21, 32-34, 22-25, 21-25) at Hillsborough Community College Tuesday. Hillsborough improved to 10-6 on the season.

The Eagles have split the season series with Hillsborough 1-1.

Polk was led by DiannMarie Rivera-Romero (San Juan, Puerto Rico) with 20 digs and 12 kills. Rachel Aguilar (Caracas, Venezuelai) dished out 35 assists, along with 12 digs and four aces. Ileanuska Maldonado (Puerto Rico) recorded 17 digs, while Kahoriz Feliz Florian (Santo Domingo, DR) provided 15 kills and six blocks. The team got a solid game from Stephanie Harris, with seven kills and three blocks.     

Up next for Polk will be a home non-conference match against Indian River State College, Thursday, October 6 at 7 p.m.
