Romero Not Enough in 2-3 Loss to Hillsborough Community College

JACKSONVILLE - The Polk State College volleyball team suffered its first loss in the 2011 FCSAA Volleyball Tournament. After winning its first-round game, Polk fell 2-3 (21-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-15, 9-15) to Hillsborough Community College on Saturday afternoon.

DiannMarie Rivera-Romero (San Juan, Puerto Rico) had 18 kills and nine digs. Rachel Aguilar (Caracas, Venezuela) played a solid game with 37 assists, two aces and four kills. Kahoriz Feliz Florian (Santo Domingo, DR) provided 15 kills, 21 digs and two aces, while Stephanie Harris (Miami, FL) had 10 kills and two blocks.

Polk moves to the losers bracket and will face St. Petersburg College today at 7 p.m.
