Eagles Overpower St. Petersburg to Win Suncoast Conference Title
ST.PETERSBURG - The Polk State volleyball team defeated St. Petersburg Community College, 3-1 (25-12, 25-17, 22-25, 25-20), Thursday night, and won the Suncoast Conference title for the first time in school history.
Kahoriz Feliz Florian (Santo Domingo, DR) recorded 17 kills and three blocks for the Eagles. Rachel Aguilar (Caracas, Venezuela) had 47 assists, three aces and 10 digs for Polk State, and Yaritza Santiago (Puerto Rico) had nine kills and 11 digs. DiannMarie Rivera-Romero (San Juan, Puerto Rico) recorded 15 kills, three blocks and six digs for the Eagles.
Polk State's next game will be on Monday night against Central College of Florida at 7 p.m. at home. It will be sophomore night for the Eagles.
